Centennial Bridge Project

The Rotary Bridge is a 100-foot long pedestrian bridge across the Wissahickon creek approximately 200 yards down stream from Butler Ave. It is a part of the Green Ribbon Trail of the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association.

The bridge was donated to the Watershed Association to honor the centennial anniversary of Rotary International. It is the result of seven years of work by the Rotary Club of Ambler. Engineering, permit applications, foundation design as well as some actual work on the bridge itself were done by Rotary members.

While the bridge is a significant addition to the Green Ribbon Trail, you do not need to be a hiker to enjoy the bridge and this area of the Wissahickon creek. The bridge may be easily accessed on foot from Butler Ave. If you cross the bridge, you can walk along Lower Gwynedd Township Municipal Authority right of way for approximately 1/4 of a mile where you will come to Church Street.
