Vol. 82. Edition 1                                                                                            July 5, 2006

(Publisher - Eric Faddis)

July 5 MEETING:

President John Snyder’s term in office got off to a flying start, as he and wife, Joan were in Austria where Joan is performing in a coral group.  Meanwhile, back at the ranch, 1st V.P. Pat McGee lead us in the Pledge to the Flag, singing “America the Beautiful” and Dave Roberts had a gracious invocation and led us in reciting the “Four Way Test.”  1st V.P. McGee was feeling his oats as he suggested that Past President Tom has enough jokes left over so he should pay $1 every week to entertain us.  Sounds good…

VISITOR: Although we had no visiting Rotarian, we were graced with the presence of Arvind’s daughter, Archana who has just returned from a year in Brazil as an Exchange Student representing the Blue Bell Rotary Club.  How did that happen?  At the urging of several people at his table, Jack Gomberg asked Archana several question in Portuguese.  Archana received an A+ for her responses.

COMMUNITY IN CELEBRATION: (Happy Dollars)

John Gerhard our incoming Program Chair asks that you notify him about any ideas you might have for a program.  Know a sports star, a Past President, a TV celeb, attend a special program you would like to share with your fellow Rotarians?  Contact John and let him know.  If you want, he will even make that telephone call for you.  Good programs are the heart and soul of our weekly meetings.  Planning for 52 weeks is a big job for one person, so pitch-in and give John a hand.  Call John at 215-885-1000.
