Vol. 81. Edition 39                                                                                    March 29, 2006

Please note that Change-Over will be held on June 21 at 6 P.M

MARCH 29 MEETING:

Today we opened with the Pledge to the Flag, and then President Tom demonstrated that he is a quick learner by introducing and leading us in singing, “God Bless America.”  Dave Robert’s was placing money, saying it would take President Tom a lot longer than it has and finally, Jeff Jacoby presented the invocation.

Today’s guests included:

·         Vice Tarquini (former member who has moved back into our community),

·         Michele Berk, an Elder Law attorney in Fort Washington

·         Rosemarie DeLuca from Act II Playhouse

·         Jeannette Talese and John Mahoney from the Ambler Symphony.

President Tom thanked all who assisted in today’s meeting including:  Joan Coleman,

Donna Buckley, Maria Kim (50-50) and Jim Kline (set-up).  Not included was the person or persons taking attendance, hmm.

President Tom seems to be somewhat defensive about his jokes, so he read a few “True” stories about children in bible classes, donated by Past President, Dave Roberts.

On a positive note, President Tom read from an article from the District Newsletter stating that Ambler Rotary is number one in the district with regard to the amount of money pledged and actually raised in support of Polio Plus.  We had a goal of $25,000 and actually raised $32,000.  All this was possible because of the outstanding leadership of Phil Albright.  Thank, Phil!

A fair warning was issued to all.  Mark Waltz, filling in for Chuck Dager, will be administering a test in mid April on the “Rotarian” magazine.  Be prepared.
